Air Quality Health Advisories
When air pollutant levels exceed a healthy threshold, the Oklahoma DEQ will issue an air quality health advisory, which is different than an Ozone Alert. An air quality health advisory is issued based on real-time data for the remainder of the day that it is issued on. These advisories are sent when ozone levels reach the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups”, or Orange level. This means that air pollution levels are already unhealthy for some people, and you should take caution before spending time outside when an advisory is issued.
Tulsa Area Air Quality/Ozone Alert sends out ozone health advisories when the Oklahoma DEQ issues them for any county in the Tulsa metro area, keeping Tulsans informed about real-time air quality conditions so that individuals can better protect their health.
